Post-October 2020
In November 2020, the company migrated to a new platform called Open Cart due to its compatibility with our inventory management system. This allows product uploads and order processing to be faster and more streamlined, whilst leaving the front-end design similar to the way it was on Magento (see the Pre-October 2020 section below).
In January 2021, after launching the retail site monobathleisure.com in December 2020, the landing page of the wholesale site monobclothing.com was changed to a more simplified design to minimize the confusion between the wholesale site and the retail site. Wholesale customers can only access the complete site when their account has been activated by the customer service team.
Pre-October 2020
One of my first major projects was overhauling the website and migrating the data from an old platform hosted on a wholesale website (FashionGo.com) to our own Magento-based website (monobclothing.com). We launched the new site in August 2017. Although I wasn’t involved in the initial building and migration, the responsibility fell to me when my superior resigned in early 2018.
Some of the initiatives I’ve taken for the new website:
- De-cluttering the look and the menu
- Streamlining the check-out section for an easier interface
- Adding call-to-action small banners in the homepage
- Adding the Curated Category section (with themes such as red and pink items for Valentine’s Day, items with animal prints, items with star prints, etc.)
- Activating and creating content for the Mono B blog with posts that correspond with current promotions
My experience in CSS and HTML, combined with a mild strong addiction to online shopping, has helped achieve the current flow and design of the website. By modeling a wholesale site after retail sites, we’re able to provide a familiar and user-friendly experience for customers.
These are all done in conjunction with creating a standardized look for all platforms (including other wholesale websites and social media), writing copy and designing seasonal editorial books, creating supporting promotional materials, and writing a forty-something-page guidebook for Magento uploading and website (and Authorize.net) troubleshooting for the Mono B Clothing team.

The wholesale website monobclothing.com is designed to be accessible for verified customers only. After registering, a customer will receive an automated email prompting them to submit their business license or resale certificate. After the Mono B Clothing web team receives the proper documentation, the customer’s profile will then be activated.
