Mono B Clothing

Mono B Clothing is a casual and athleisure wholesale clothing company based in Los Angeles, CA. During my time, Mono B more than quadrupled its online sales, with more than a third of orders coming from its own website and the rest coming from a combination of other wholesale sites (FashionGo, LA Showroom, OrangeShine, and Faire).

It had a retail branch called Mono B Athleisure.

Role: Head of Creative & Marketing

The Mono B editorial books or look books were available in both digital and print and were especially handy during trade shows.

I wanted to have a design that reflects classic magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and ELLE. Apart from creating the layout and choosing the typography, I also took the photos for some of the look books and wrote all the copy.

However, the most difficult part was probably making sure the QR codes match the items, since our trade show representatives would scan them to streamline the buying process.

Select projects I’ve done for Mono B Clothing, including website design (when we were still using Magento and OpenCart).

To maximize our SEO and web presence, as well as give sales ideas to our vendors, I also wrote blog posts that were featured on the website.

Here are some samples from the Mono B blog, originally published on monobclothing.com.

Blog posts are always coordinated with MailChimp campaigns, a #curatedcollection subcategory on the website (when applicable), and social media posts.

Since I began working for Mono B Clothing in April 2017, I’ve written hundreds of product names and descriptions, as well as streamlined and created a standardized structure for how the description should be presented. Here are some of their examples, as seen on monobclothing.com.

As a graphic designer and photographer (or a photographer and graphic designer), I always make sure my editorial-style photographs have enough negative space for text and/or graphics.

When it comes to photo-retouching in the fashion industry, there’s a fine line between “bad” and “good” garment wrinkles. The key is determining whether the imperfections serve a purpose (e.g.: to show a movement and therefore make the photo look more dynamic) or if they can be erased or minimized whilst still looking natural.

Here are samples of photo retouching for Mono B Clothing I’ve done over the years, with a range of work that includes de-wrinkling garments, overlaying photos, and changing colors.

Keep in mind these were done before Artificial Intelligence.
