Accessories West Imports

This wholesale jewelry company, based in Van Nuys, brought modern costume jewelry to department stores and online stores throughout the US. It also owned the retail store Olivia Leigh Jewelry.

Role: Photographer and graphic designer.

The two main rebranding projects for Accessories West Imports were updating their logo and their product card they sent to customers. The new logo kept the compass and the sun as the seal, but with a more streamlined look. A new typeface was also applied.

Since I was brought in as a jewelry photographer, I was responsible for developing how the new presentation looked, with crisper lighting and a more product-forward design for the product card layout.

Apart from developing the layout for product cards, I also designed postcards and advertisements for trade shows.

Digitally, I designed banners for the company’s Constant Contact newsletter.

Jewelry photography has its own challenges, from lighting reflective surfaces to styling chains so they hang symmetrically to getting rings to stand on their own.

Here are some of my favorite product and editorial photographs I’ve taken for Accessories West Imports.
